Here they are, plain and simple. that everyone who wants to start and grow a business from home must understand and accept:
1. There is no such thing as a "Get Rich Quick" Home Business program (that is legal).
2. You will not be able to use most of the "Three Clicks and You're In Business Overnight" programs you see advertised on the internet for two reasons:
You probably do not have the Internet Marketing skills needed to make it work. You do not have the necessary list of potential prospects to market the product to.
3. Home Business is just that - a BUSINESS! It must be treated like one.
4. Without a BIG WHY (why you want to be in business for yourself) you will fail.
5. You do not need money to start many types of Home Businesses. You will need money (or time) to grow your business.
6. Home Business almost always involves doing most - if not all - of your business online. There are two ways to do business online:
Promoting &/or selling Your Own product or service. Promoting or selling Someone Else's product or service.
7. Your own product or service, could be a product you make yourself - a product you get from a wholesaler and resell - a service you can provide (bookkeeping, transcription, data entry, professional record keeping services, etc.), or just information about a subject you are knowledgeable about (or know where & how to get the information ).
8. You will need a full e-commerce website to sell your own product ( & most services).
9. Someone else's products or services, could be just about anything that has an Affiliate Program or offers individual "Business Ownership" in the larger business (such as Amway, etc.) or even eBooks that offer resell rights.
10. Business models used to promote and sell other people's products and services are traditionally Affiliate Marketing or Multi-Level Marketing (aka "Network Marketing). Promoting &/or selling other people's products can be done with a simple website, blog, or even just using social networks and email marketing. Full e-commerce site is not needed.
11. The online business process is:
Market Research Product Selection (if you don't have one of your own) Establishing your Business Model & Sales Platform Getting Leads (people who may be interested in your product or service) Sorting prospects (people who are interested in your product) from leads Converting prospects into satisfied customers
12. Finally, there is a lot of truth in the old cliches "The Money Is In The List" (of prospects ), and "No Traffic, No Sales!"
